Psalm 1:1-3 NKJV

1 Blessed is the man

Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,

Nor stands in the path of sinners,

Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord,

And in His law he meditates day and night.

3 He shall be like a tree

Planted by the rivers of water,

That brings forth its fruit in its season,

Whose leaf also shall not wither;

And whatever he does shall prosper.

Do you know there’s a kind of prosperity that doesn’t destroy? The kind that Jesus gives. How is it obtained? Psalm 1:1-3 tells us so.

First, walk not in the counsel of the ungodly. This means that some friends may have to go. Especially those who don’t add value to your life.

Next, don’t sit in the seat of the scornful. In other words, don’t mingle with people who mock and scoff at the Word of God. Turn away from their company. Run away from them. Their words will drag you down and may even shake your faith in Jesus—especially if you’re going through a difficult time. Surround yourself with friends who will point you to Jesus and encourage you.

Someone who has true prosperity delights in the Word of the Lord and meditates on it day and night.
