Proverbs 16:3 NKJV
3 Commit your works to the Lord,
And your thoughts will be established.
Hey friends, here’s a word from the Lord to you for those who struggle with perfectionism. I feel this verse in today’s proverb really speaks to us.
Don’t we struggle with this as Singaporeans? Every time after we submit our tasks, we start getting thoughts on if our work was good enough. Worried if we’ll get negative feedback from our superiors.
But, the above verse says “Commit your works to the Lord” and “your thoughts will be established”. What this means is, when you submit your task, project, test/assessment results, commit the result to the Lord FIRST, then your thoughts will be established.
In other words, do your task faithfully and excellently. Submit your work. And commit the result to the Lord. Then your thoughts will be established.
What does “your thoughts will be established” mean? It means, your thoughts will be aligned with God’s thoughts: the results of my work and assignments don’t define who I am. It’s Jesus Who is my Identity.
