Proverbs 16:5 NKJV

5 Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord;

Though they join forces, none will go unpunished.

2 Chronicles 20:22-23 NKJV

22 Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated.

23 For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another.

I like how this verse in Proverbs reminded me of this year’s theme verse: 2 Chronicles 20. I was especially reminded of the part where God set ambushes against King Jehoshaphat’s enemies when they sang praises to the Lord.

This verse of Proverbs reveals the heart of the enemies of King Jehoshaphat: they were proud. The verse has a promise: though his enemies join forces, none will go unpunished.

That’s why we pray for our enemies. Not because they are better or more worse than us but because our Lord may come down hard on them for coming against us.

Anyway, hope you were blessed by this sharing, amen!
