Proverbs 2:10, 20-21 NKJV
10 When wisdom enters your heart,
And knowledge is pleasant to your soul,20 So you may walk in the way of goodness,
And keep to the paths of righteousness.
21 For the upright will dwell in the land,
And the blameless will remain in it;
Proverbs 2 tells us the benefits of wisdom. Verses 10 to 13 tells us the different aspects of wisdom.
What is the point of seeking wisdom? It’s so we can be a good testimony to our Lord Jesus; that is to walk in goodness and keep to the paths of righteousness. As further down in Proverbs 2 tells us: “so you may walk in the way of goodness”. And, “keep to the paths of righteousness”.
And there’s a promise that comes with walking wisely, as mentioned in the same Proverb: you will dwell in the land. “For the upright will dwell in the land, and the blameless will remain in it.” Because of Jesus’ finished work on the cross, you are more than blameless. You are righteous by faith. Your sins have been washed clean by the blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus qualifies you for all the blessings and promises of your Abba!
Proverbs 2:21 also ties in so well with this year’s theme video! What’s the point of reaching the land when you can’t hold on to it? What’s the secret? Well, it’s wisdom!When you remain upright, you will dwell in the land. When you are blameless, you will remain in the land.
So, let’s keep seeking after wisdom, amen!
